Meetup is an online social networking portal that facilitates offline group meetings in various localities around the world.
Meetup allows members to find and join groups unified by a common interest, such as walking, eating, sport, pet-lovers, or whatever our hobbies may be.
Meetup brings people together in thousands of cities to do more of what they want to do in life. It is organized around one simple idea: when we get together and do the things that matter to us, we’re at our best. And that’s what the Tees Valley IVC Meetup does. It brings people together to do, explore, and experience the things that help us enjoy life to the full!
That’s why we have created our own Meetup:

National Association of IVC Clubs
IVC is a national network of social events clubs aimed at professionals, graduates and like-minded people. We have nearly 50 clubs and around 5000 members across the UK.
IVC is run entirely on a voluntary basis, by members for members. We don't make a profit. Our sole purpose is to socialise, meet people, make friends and have fun. Each month we publish a lively and varied events programme. Never be short of something to do again!

Our chosen charity for 2024 is The Hope Foundation. The foundation has been here for people in Middlesbrough since 1995, providing opportunities for learning, access to technology, careers advice, volunteering opportunities and support.
Its aim is to reduce disadvantage, loneliness and isolation and help people recognise their potential – because they matter. With Hope’s help many local people have gained skills and qualifications, become volunteers, found employment and made friends.
Its services focus on 4 key areas:
- Helping people get to where they should be;
- Learning – accredited qualifications taught in small, safe classes;
- Digital – helping people get the most out of devices and technology;
- Well-being – helping people learn how to look after themselves, learn new skills and meet new people.
The Hope Foundation is based at Hope House, 1 Grange Road, Middlesbrough TS1 5BA, where there’s also a café open to the public. The café is partnered with Ringtons and features a brand-new barista machine, fruit teas and a whole range of lovely coffee! You can find more information and keep an eye on what’s going on by visiting the website: hope-foundation.org.uk
